The Origin Myth The lore holds that after eons of scattered civilizations warring over resources, three elder races brokered the first accords: shared jump-gate technology, neutral trade stations, and a mutual defense clause that has (almost) never been broken. The treaty was signed, depending on which chronicler you ask, “in the space between stars” — a poetic way of saying the location is lost to history.
