Every great mythology needs a founding story, and the Galactic Federation’s is as old as the stars themselves — at least according to the lore.

The Origin Myth

The lore holds that after eons of scattered civilizations warring over resources, three elder races brokered the first accords: shared jump-gate technology, neutral trade stations, and a mutual defense clause that has (almost) never been broken. The treaty was signed, depending on which chronicler you ask, “in the space between stars” — a poetic way of saying the location is lost to history.

The Member Structure

The Federation isn’t a government; it’s a compact. Members retain sovereignty but pool three things: defense, deep-space rescue, and the Archive — the complete record of every species’ history and art. The Archive is the true treasure: the reason civilizations join, and occasionally the reason they’re denied.
